You've always been a Burg fan if I remember correctly, but I've seen a lot of shots towards the Pirates lately. Mostly Valley related. It's no secret that the Indians have the Pirates number and have taken over as top dog in SOC II, but this is a very good team. I think it is unrealistic to expect Burg to sustain the success they had for so many years, but we are still a premier football program in se ohio. Just because we aren't Valley right now shouldn't be seen as a slap in the face.

Our running back is gimpy but will play, along with the four other ones !!! Our QB is gimpy but will play as he did in the fourth quarter of the Westfall game!!! Our defense isn't that good against the pass but they will sack the poop out of your QB !!!! Hope Wheelerburg isn't a bunch of wimps cause it hurts alot to play us!!!! But we'll probably lose to this much talent unless they buckle under the pressure and pain!!!!!

Purple, I can't figure out if you are being sarcastic or trying to be honest about your team but I will say this about Wheelersburg, they would have beaten Westfall by a lot more than what you all did and on top of it, had to do it in a wild finish. So congrats on the win, but it is hard to tackle what you can't catch. Maybe last week was just a bad week for you guys and you might have been looking ahead who knows, but trust me Burg has played Physical teams all year long so I hope u all can do more than just be physical.

Purplesage welcome to the Board! I don't have a dog in this fight but I am a southern Ohio fan. Wheelersburg is a very good passing team. Their receivers are outstanding. If your defense is not very good against the pass, you will have your work cut out for you. Jam receivers at the line and DE's must rush the QB ..... HARD! If he has time, his receivers will get open and they will catch anything close. Best of luck to both squads.

What would "taken over" entail? The only reason I say this is because of the parody that has existed in the SOC since 2000 or so. Our run as the dominant yearly favorite is over, and I don't think that is a bad thing. For many years we just had to show up and win, everyone else knew they were playing for 2nd place. It isn't like that anymore. It gives us something to strive for again, but right now there is no question at who has taken over. I worry that the hard work, preparation, and confidence has been replaced by entitlement and arrogance. I feel that is the biggest reason we don't dominate like we used to.

Sorry for sidetracking the thread, back to the game. MF has a tradition rich, prideful program that will come to play. I just think they are outmatched this week.

I very much agree with a the last three things you said so very loudly in this post....but you left out one very important key to winning...Scoring Points!! :122246 Something Wheelersburg has no trouble doing is putting points on the board in bunches, so before you start throwing gas on the fire you better have a way to put it out and your Defense I’ve been seeing is not the solution!

Things sure "ain't" like they use to be, huh? And, you're just now figuring that out?!?!?! A team goes 30-0 and wins 3 outright SOCII Championships and they still get no respect.
