me and pappy bait were talking about this last night on the phone after the game. high school ball is 12 minutes a quarter. you have a scoreless 1st quarter. then reel off 71 points in 36 minutes, with a running clock. that's crazy.. the ''fighting tigers'' have scored like 120 points this year, in 3 games

You can probably add another 100 to that, after next Friday.😲

Ironton 58 ppg opponents 5 ppg
Granted theyve only played one offense with serious weapons so far

Yeah you can tell they're trying some things still, i think they need to start feeding carter more to get him ready come playoff time.

Was the 71 points in this game the most points Coal Grove has ever given up in a game?

Ironton has clobbered the Hornets the past two years. Coach Kidd and Coach Ferguson had some very competitive games with the Tigers and Fergusin even managed to beat them during the Roll Coal season a few years back. The past two games have been pretty tough for my Grove friends. Losing their two best players in Compliment and Stapleton to graduation after this season can’t be a comforting thought for them.

Series history
2000 Ironton 51 CG 0
2015 Ironton 13 CG 7
2016 Ironton 14 CG 12
2017 CG 28 Ironton 7
2018 Ironton 21 CG 12
2019 Ironton 49 CG 12
2020 Ironton 71 CG 0

2015-2018 were some competitive games between these schools. Who are only separated by Woodland cemetery and are around 3 miles apart.
Only other loss that was close to that for the Grove was in 2012. Bishop Ready 72 CG 20. That’s what I could find doing some research.

That’s because they have the very worst schedule in division 5, so I wouldn’t thump my chest too much Tigger

Can the Fighting Tigers sustain ‘A Point A Minute’ thru the regular season?
Has any Ohio high school ever sustained this???
