Not totally surprising since the regular season thread was mostly about a Burg Ironton rematch.

Well if you guys knock off ironton, there won’t be any rematch.portsmouth_98 wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 11:49 am Not totally surprising since the regular season thread was mostly about a Burg Ironton rematch.

Re: Week 12 : #9 (8-3) Portsmouth @ #1 (10-1) Ironton
As I told someone this morning, our kids have to believe that they can beat the Fighting Tigers and forget what happened 2 weeks ago. Portsmouth absolutely has to have Drew Roe healthy to have any chance of advancing to Round 3. He was shaken up vs. IHS in the first game, and didn't look his usual self against Zane Trace.
The Trojans absolutely have to capitalize on any redzone trips with TD's and not FG's. Defensively, they have to make the Fighting Tigers work their way down the field minus chunk plays. Ironton imposed their will in the 2nd half of the first game, and if that happens again, PHS's season will come to an end.
Portsmouth is a big underdog in this one, but I just want our kids to leave it all out on the field. Play like you've never played before.....play like you don't want your season to end.....it's playoff football, but it's still Ironton vs. Portsmouth.......GO TROJANS!!

I love it when Ironton and Portsmouth meet up. Reading if we fo this and if you do that well the only thing I can tell you for sure is what an old ball coach used to say. Ironton will show up. Good luck and may we have an injury free game for both teams.

It’s hard to beat a good team twice in the same season, but I don’t see the Trojans recovering mentally what happened to them 2 weeks ago by the Tigers. Go Tigers!

I think after this week, the game(s) starting getting a little tougher. Would love to see Tigers and Ridgewood play again. The game 2 years ago for regional championship was a good one.

Very good game and it was at my favorite small school playoff site. Wouldn’t mind the next one being at Logan if they do rematchTigerMania wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:01 pm I think after this week, the game(s) starting getting a little tougher. no competition don't gotta compete, I'm already winning this isn't defeat

I just hope that someone will know where the breaker is and turn off those lights they added in Tank Stadium over the bleachers that blinded the crap out of everyone last week! The good thing is that many Portsmouth fans probably won't come so a guy can sit over there if the lights are on.
If anything, replace the bulbs that are burned out on the stadium lights (they might have been now but I know they've been out all season)

Well, Who Wouldn't Love Them Fighting Tigers?!

If they are actual Portsmouth fans they’ll be there. Week 12 playoff game against your biggest rival, 2nd oldest rivalry in the state. This after winning your first playoff game in 20 years, if someone calls themselves a Trojan fan and aren’t there just because of what happened 2 weeks ago then they aren’t much of a fan. Maybe I’m just diehard win or lose idk. But this game is still huge and I hope to see both sides packed. Side note: wasn’t many people at ZT to support the Trojans, it’ll be colder and playing a better team so I wouldn’t be shocked to see a lot of empty seats on the Portsmouth side.

I have thought the same thing, that would be a top priority you would think over some of the other stuff.kantucky wrote: Tue Nov 02, 2021 12:47 am I just hope that someone will know where the breaker is and turn off those lights they added in Tank Stadium over the bleachers that blinded the crap out of everyone last week! I think with the freshman QB only getting his 2nd start they will make sure and try to take care of business the best they can it’s hard to win rematch games especially Portsmouth vs ironton in the playoffsGo2Guy wrote: Tue Nov 02, 2021 12:52 pm Tigers cant come out looking ahead and expecting this game to go like the last one 2 weeks ago.... Any word on if the freshman is getting the start? I figured they were just letting Wylie rest a week cause no offense but Wellston was never a threat.MrFirstTake wrote: Tue Nov 02, 2021 1:02 pmI think with the freshman QB only getting his 2nd start they will make sure and try to take care of business the best they can it’s hard to win rematch games especially Portsmouth vs ironton in the playoffsGo2Guy wrote: Tue Nov 02, 2021 12:52 pm Tigers cant come out looking ahead and expecting this game to go like the last one 2 weeks ago.... Ironton and burg I bet maybe valley or rock hill?, ironton vs ridgewood 2 years ago was at nelsonville York. But if portsmouth and burg win I’ll bet valley. Portsmouth vs ridgewood and bet Chillicothe. I had to throw the Trojans in there lolbiggdowgg wrote: Tue Nov 02, 2021 4:03 pm Heard Wylie had surgery on his foot and is out for the year.
