Yeah Williamstown, the big bad wolf of the MOV. Teams are so afraid of them they shake at the sight of them taking the field. If they were on the other side of the river they'd be an average to a little bit above average program. Warren playing Williamstown or a school from KY, who really cares. Playing WV or KY schools doesn't do anything for Warren anyway in terms of playoff points regardless of who the opponent is. And last time I checked Marietta controlled Williamstown for most of the game and Warren dog walked Marietta. But what do I know.
Don’t know much if you’re not giving Williamstown football credit. Last time they played Warren, they dog walked them, so what’s your point? Warren got them off the schedule as quick as they could. Rather play average at best teams I guess?
I didn't discredit them at all. We've seen them play FF, a very good program and you can see the results. Also, there's a reason PHS and South never play them because it serves no purpose. And yeah they beat us, good for them, but Warren was also in a completely different stage of their program. And If you think Warren is intimidated or scared of Williamstown football I don't know what to tell you, I really don't. My guess is they probably took them off the schedule because it makes no sense to play a small WV school when you can play teams near your size in OH. And is every team supposed to play a juggernaut every week? Every team schedules "wins" on their schedule that is just reality. Maybe Warren in the coming years should schedule Massillon Washington, Bishop Watterson, Archbishop Hoban, and Toledo Central Catholic and then mix in PHS, South, and Wheeling Park. That way we don't play so many average teams, which make up the vast majority of high school football.

Why would PHS and South play Williamstown? What does that do for playoff points for them if they win? And if you do lose, its not a good look on the playoff resume. You explain it right in your message. It's basically a losing situation for any big school in the MOV.

As far as Warren goes, you haven't beat any of those 3 schools in 10 years (South in '13 when they were 2-8).

He’d fit in even better at Warren. Imagine how good they could be with a D1 guy on that staff.
Imagine posting what you just said. Pure drivel.
I said what I said. He’d put that staff over the top. Best team in Washington County and add a D1 guy? Lights out! There’s a chance they could do better than one and done in the playoffs next year.
Making the playoffs is a bad year? We could be Marietta and go into a game knowing all we have to do is win and we make the playoffs just to get crushed by our rival. Maybe Jimmy Bell could put them over the top. Maybe they could be better than the third or fourth best team in the county.

Where is the evidence he could do that ? Marietta will never be very good in football because of the mother hen school board constant interference that runs off coaches and awful facilities that have been basically ignored for decades. No tradition. No stadium. Decaying schools. Population decline that has been going on since the 70's. If they could, Marietta should hire a coach who runs a system like the old triple option. Run that same system in the middle schools and establish that culture for a few years so kids will want to come out and play. It would be wildly successful if done right IMO. The issue is finding someone who would put up with the negativity that is Marietta City Schools and their school board.

I don’t know Jimmy Bell personally and certainly don’t know the entire circumstances he saw at Belpre, but they were among the worst teams in the state during his short tenure with points scored/allowed. I know being a former Buckeye is impressive and perhaps he just had an awful situation with number of kids but the reports on here about belpre at that time were not good.
Just to clarify, the Marietta job hasn't been posted and I can guarantee if/when it does, Jimmy Bell will not be Schob's replacement.

Someone on this thread seems to think he'd be a slam dunk hire
