Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game to the very end. I thought that Oak Hill did what they had to do in the beginning and come out strong but Minford responded and Oak Hill couldn't get into any type of rhythm. Minford was controlling the game up front and on the outside as Oak Hill couldn't shake blocks and was you get those Minford boys some open space then you can really see the speed. I will have to admit that I felt that 19-7 at half would be hard to come back with the way that Minford was moving the ball.

Second half I felt the Oaks did a very good job of mixing up the passes and the runs. Really liked the little screen pass to Woods. We run the screen to Hale, Davis and even Walter a good bit but hadn't seen it doen to Woods and thought that it was a great call at the right moment.

Great job by the Oak Hill boys to keep their heads in the game. Must have 4 quarters next Saturday to advance. The updates I was getting from the Burg game is that the Freddies are very athletic. Sounds to me like the Ridgewood of last year.

Enjoy this one for awhile and then get back to work.
First Regional Final appearance in school history!

Great Game, both teams really played well. I am real proud of my Falcons, they really played hard, and did not quit!! But Oak Hill earned the victory, they made some great plays, and their line really stepped it up in the second half. #10 played a great game, and "yes" he was the difference in the game. He made some big plays when they needed them. And he really leads the team.
As for my Falcons, great job. #3 and #2 are STUDS, they both played their butts off. As did the rest on the team. I am going to miss this senior class, they are sure fun to watch. It's too bad they had to loose their finale game, but at least they made it to week 12.
Great job by the Minford coaching staff, I think they had a great game plan. We just come up a little short.

Good Luck to the Oak's, I would love to see you win the Region!!!!

Proud to be a Falcon!!!

Congrats to the Oaks on the win. They will definitely have their hands full next week against the Freddies. They just dominated the LOS on the Burg tonight on both sides of that ball and I haven't seen that happen all year. They are big, they are fast, and they are very athletic. The one thing I see that will be in the Oaks favor is they can be passed on. The Burg isn't near as adept at passing as the Oaks are and the Pirates moved the ball through the air most of the night.

Good luck to the Oaks next week!

Before I get to far into this thread, I would like to give congratulations to the Oak Hill Oaks on winning a hard fought game that came down to 2:00 left in the 4th quarter and was decided by less than 7 points not 3 or 4 TDs as some predicted. There are a lot of Oak Hill posters that owe me a lot of $$$, lol! That was a game in which you hate to see someone lose as both played their hearts out. Good game guys, I will be sitting on your side cheering for you next weekend against Fredericktown. Represent Southeastern Ohio and the SOC conference well. See ya next week.

#13 for the Oaks, I thought was the one who stepped up for them and made some real big plays when needed, keep it up!

Minford Seniors: I know it may hurt now, but you'll look back on this season and be very proud of what you have accomplished with a 9 win season and also a playoff win. Minford is very proud of you. You are only the 3rd Minford teams in history and the 1st in the Coach Daniels era to win a playoff game, you will always be remembered in Minford for your accomplishments. Good luck in your future endeavors.

great game tonight by oth teams they left it all on the field...

Jackson has to be the best play off host ever!!....hats off to the people of Jackson, had kids walking the stands selling pop, candy, peanuts etc.....great ideal to raise money,so many people at crowded games like this would not fight the lines at the food booths...it was great to have it brought right to you....

good luck Oak Hill.

Outstanding effort by both teams. No one deserved to lose that game. Jackson was a great host. I don't believe there is better place to watch a game a game. Some observations from last night's game:
1. Minford's coaching staff had Oak Hill totally on their heels the first half. The seemed to make all the right calls.

2. Great adjustments by Oak Hill's staff at half. Minford was flying to Weston in the first half. Oak Hill spread the ball around in the second half which opened up plays for Weston. Loved to see the fullback get the ball some.

3. Piguet (#3) was the best player on the field last night...Oak Hill struggled finding a way to stop him.

4. Oak Hill showed that Maynard, Hale and Slone aren't the only skilled position players on Oak Hill"s team... Davis #34, Woods #21, and Parker #13 can and will make plays also. Parker made some huge plays in this game.

5. Oak Hill's line won the game in the second half...great job guys.

6. Minford played their hearts out, but just ran out of time. Oak Hill refused to give up. There were many times they could have folded, but they kept fighting, great team effort.

Hopefully, no one gets on here and runs his/her mouth too much... The kids on both teams left it all on the field, and that is where the trash talk should end. Neither team deserves to read anything less than praise.
Congrats to Minford on a great season. You proved you were a scrappy bunch of kids.
To Oak Hill, keep making history. It has been a great ride, let's keep it going another week!

nice comment Browns30. how do you think those boys will feel when they read that and look at each other and say---we did play 4 quarters we just lost 2 of them. Also you diminish what the falcons accomplished by making it seem as if the oaks were just sleep walking the first half. not cool. you might want to consider how your arrogance comes across as ignorance. not for either school but one heck of a football game. there are ways to encourage your team without insulting everyone. Congrats to the Oaks! Minford you are the real deal also--I know you earned my respect and the first game was obviously not a fluke. Oaks be ready to go against a scrappy Freddies team and represent the SOC well!

This was an outstanding game! Congrats to the oaks for the victory over a great minford squad. Minford controlled the los in the first half and maintained some nice clock consuming drives. Great job by the oaks in adjusting at the half and controlling the second half and containing a very fast falcon backfield. This was an awesome victory for the oaks and an absolute heartbreaker for the falcons.

On another note, jackson has got to be one of the best football stadiums in southern ohio. The shuttle parking, spacious seating on both sides, concessions on both sides, and miked officials was well worth my drive from waverly. Also, props to the kids selling food in the stands during the game. Oh yeah, and we got one helluva game on top of that. I would love to see jackson host another game next week.

Good luck to the oaks from waverly. Beat fredericktown and give them a taste of southeastern ohio football they will never forget!!!! GO OAKS!!!!
