MEMORIAL FIELD'S BIRTHDAY

Believe it or not, today is the 60th anniversary of Gallipolis' Memorial Field.

It was dedicated on Friday, Oct. 8, 1948.

Unbeaten Gallipolis battled undefeated Athens before 4,560 fans.

Gallia Academy blanked the Bulldogs 21-0, then went on to claim its second straight SEOAL grid crown, finishing the year at 9-0.The Bulldogs of Coach Harry Lackey finished second in league play with a 6-1 mark.

I am looking for someone who will be at this game to give me text message updates. After each score and quarter would be greatly appreciated.

Send me a PM if you are willing to help me out!

91 blue 14, Wellston only starts 3 seniors the rest are underclassmen with 2 freshman starting, one of them both ways.

I say if Wellston scores the most points they win ....if not then the Bluedevils do .

If the Wellston Golden Rockets can contain the pass and get to the Blue Devil QB, then I believe they have an opportunity to win on Memorial Field :!: :-D

Wellston is going to run the defense that is the Ralph Whittington 1 -5-5 . Ralph will rush the passer the rest will be in coverage.
Ralph once ran through 5 full grown black bears to get the pot of honey. He did this in under 3 seconds. :!:
