I think it is an imperative for defensive linemen to wrestle. I teaches handfighting and brings out the one-on-one situation.

i think symmes valley should get it because it would benefit there football team in a big kiind of way i went to symmes valley and played football and i seen some real potential in a lot of people for wrestling and i only went there for the last five years of school and i have went to about 4 or 5 different schools in the past 8 years. but i think it would benefit them greatly cause some of the kids that cant make the basketball team dont have no other athletic options other than powerlifting in the wintertime.

Ive been hearing lately that wrestling is in fact coming to Scioto County. A father and his son recently moved into Minford from the Dayton area. The father has been garnering support for wrestling at Minford. So far Minford, West, Notre Dame and possibly Northwest have all agreed. They are holding a meeting with the SOC schools in coming weeks to give a final decision on whether to add it as a SOC sport.

Unioto is in fact in their second year as a club sport.
We had the boosters purchase the mats
We fund everything else our selves. This may be a selling pt to get your BOE to accept.

Could the addition of wresting at Minford affect the football fortunes of districts which border on Minford's?

I agree that Symmes needs wrestling. Every time i have been involved in a sport against Symmes Valley, the kids we mean and strong. I think offering wrestling would most definitely benefit them and harness that meanness and strength. It also helps with coordination.

To keep your metabolism moving, even the "stupid" wrestler knows to eat a couple of bites of something a few times a day. With proper food selection, a kid can eat a handful EACH of broccoli and some carrots, lettuce and an apple for less than 200 calories. That's enough to completely fill the average fist-sized stomach.
Drink all the water you want, and you've kept hydrated, lost weight no matter how light your workout, and stayed healthy.
As a former H.S. football player, and college wrestler, I also have to say that there is no other sport as tough as wrestling. The conditioning and strength training require commitment, focus and consistency. My freshman year in H.S., my wrestling team actually beat our basketball starters at Basketball. We only had one request-No-blood-no-foul. Final score: 22-16! (and yes we had a couple of fouls on us :)_
