I-town 90...who is this famous tennis player you keep alluding to? Give us his name. I heard Stan Smith might be from the Ironton area. True? Anyway, good luck this week.

I think it's amazing that these two teams, who have never played each other before, just happen to be #1 and #2, and just a point apart, in Region 15 this year just before their scheduled game!
What clairvoyant genius schedulers planned this game so perfectly many months ago??
What a great game with lots of attention this promises to be! - GO IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS!

No, not at all what is being said. He just adds a whole different dimension to this team. Without him, it's pretty much just power offense. He adds the potential for a game breaking play at any time. You'll see what we mean, he's a player. But definitely not the only person to carry the pigskin.

I'm not writing anyone off. I had a cousin that went to Hartley two years ago, so I have respect for you guys. You wouldn't be ranked right behind us if you weren't a very good football team. You just have to get used to posters from Ironton, that's just how we are. good luck and have a safe trip down!

Good to hear that it's probably not a concussion, They're dangerous! Don't wish any of our young men to get hurt!
Probably never thought I'd say this but good luck the rest of the season! LOL

sportnut wrote:QB for Ironton, if you add up his rushing yards and his passing yards that wouldn't add up to 300 yards........NOT GOOD!
Based on the stats through the first six weeks on the "Ironton Stats 2010" thread plus the Jackson game...

Tommy has 173 rushing yards and 272 passing yards for a total of 445 yards.

The 173 rushing yards are on 35 carries which equals 4.9 yards per carry. I believe these numbers include sacks.

The two losses do not rest on the QB position in my opinion.

I think this game is a tossup. If Ironton can dominate up front they will probably win a close one . If they cant Hartley will win. Ironton is a great southeastern ohio team but much like a big ten team when they face an opponent from the sec they are to predictable on offence and cant score enough to beat the high powered teams. Ironton is not the team of the late 70s 80s and 90s that struck fear into their opponents when the bus rolled into town. But it should be a very good game good luck to both teams.

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure I am not, it was not Spolgaric that went down, it was Robbie Webb. From what I understand, he was just exhausted.

For the record, there have only been two names mentioned in the PMs where people have guessed who the TENNIS player is. Four people have guessed correctly, and three people guessed someone else, but those are the only two names that have been guessed. I sure am glad that no one guessed ME! LOL

Some may be paranoid though. LOL I guess if you question your own football knowledge and feel like some Ironton fans think you may be a moron, then you may have a right to be paranoid. LOL

good thing you boyz are in D4R15.... if you'z boys was in D4R16...the Tigers would be looking
Hartley would be looking also... Hardley would be 7th... if this game a R16 match up the winner would be in
and the loser out.. R15 is soft...

#1 7-0 Fenwick 15.9286 34.5 110.0 100
#2 7-0 Clinton-Massie 15.6143 33.0 109.0 100
#3 7-0 North College Hill 15.0143 29.5 108.0 100

#7 7-0 Carlisle 13.0929 32.5 84.5 100
#8 5-2 Waynesville 12.1714 21.5 91.0 100

1 Clarksville Clinton-Massie (13) 7-0 278 2 vs. Washington Court House 2 Akron Manchester (7) 7-0 271 3 vs. Navarre Fairless
3 Middletown Bishop Fenwick (4) 7-0 230 4 @ #4 Kettering Archbishop Alter
4 Kettering Archbishop Alter (4) 6-1 178 5 vs. #3 Middletown Bishop Fenwick
5 Genoa Area (2) 7-0 175 6 vs. Millbury Lake
6 Kenton 6-1 143 7 @ Defiance
7 Plain City Jonathan Alder (1) 6-1 113 10 @ Dayton Ponitz
8 Elyria Catholic (1) 6-1 110 1 @ Cleveland Central Catholic
9 Cincinnati North College Hill 7-0 63 NR @ Cincinnati Summit Country Day 10 Bellville Clear Fork 6-1 51 NR vs. Ashland

THE AP is a joke but.. 6 teams in the top 9 in D4R16.. tuff region. wheres D4R15... If JA played a D4 schedule they'b looking in.
good thing they scheduled 2(D1), 3(D3), and 1(D2) anything less.. even with 10 wins.. i'd be tuff .

The road goes thru ALTER.. until somebody can match up with them. It's all theirs.. Massie/JA have the size and speed up front... Last year KA beat JA, didn't think Alter manhandled them.. Simply out coached. and out executed.

look a the leaders in other regions.. they'd have a hard time making in D4R16.. the 8th place teams would be 13th and 14th in R16.

D4R16 8th 5-2 Waynesville 12.1714 8th in D4R16..
D4R13 8th 6-1 Canton Central Catholic 10.2449 In R16.. 9th place
D4R14 -8th 4-3 Galion 7.6429 In R16.. 14th place
D4R15 -8th 3-4 Portsmouth 8.0071 In R16..13th place

these 8th place teams.. would be WAY out in D4R16....

D4R14 leader 6-1 Clear Fork 15.1929 . would be 3rd in R16
D4R15 the great 5-2 Ironton 14.2786 The great Ironton would be 7th .. and be on the bubble.

good luck to both...... pulling for I-TOWN-TIGER win.. give me a T............

Have you Ironton people ever heard of Noah Key? He has 1400 yds rushing for Hartley. Your gonna hear his name alot Friday. If you can't beat helpless Jackson, you sure can't beat Hartley. Hartley 49 Ironton 14. No passing game for Ironton.
