Week 10: SEOAL: Chillicothe (3-6) at Logan (3-6)

Before the season started, someone predicted Logan could lose three SEOAL games this season.... Well, the same person believes that this trend will continue. The talent pool is running thin, and it is not going to get any better.

What now looks like down the road doesn't mean anything for the future.
This years seniors beat the teams in the league coming up to this year. Then it looked like the talent pool in the rest of the league wasn't up to Logan's.
Look at Marietta-they have had some good underclass teams but when they get to the varsity level they didn't pan out.
What is now 7,8,and 9 graders will change because boys themself change,coaching changes and the football never bounces the same this year has it will three years from now.
I can remember when I was in the 8th grade our 8 & 9 graders didn't do that well but as a 11th grader we won the league and has a senior we were right there at the end.

Sorry everyone. Since I know nothing about football (Predicted Logan to go 5-5 before the season started and that the glory days for Logan has ended) I will crawl back in my hole and let Logan get back to winning. Good Luck to all of you. Just keep being patient.

Lets give the coaching staff some time, its going to take awhile I think, unlike some years past,,,,patience is going to be a must,A person very close to the program told me he thinks they might be even worse off next year,but after that I think they'll start to improve with a decent Frosh class coming up and even one of the announcers said on air he thinks Wolfe will have his work cut out next year so lets don't throw them under the bus next year either,let them get some horses and see how they do and injuries are always a worry..man this game was really ugly last night, both teams tried giving it away several times and couldn't.I don't understand the deep ball with the backup QB in the game but I'll give Wolfe the benefit of the doubt,maybe he thought it would catch them by surprise or thought Logan was tiring and didn't want to risk OT......

Considering Logan played pretty much the entire year without their BEST player (on both sides of the ball) and battled a series of injuries - along with the inexperience of the team, I don't think things were a disaster.

They still beat the BAD teams on their schedule (Marietta, Warren, Ptown) and could have beaten Chillicothe, who was probably a pretty even match-up. And they lost to every GOOD or GREAT team they played.

If Logan had won 5 games, both Lancaster and Pick North probably would have made the playoffs and Zanesville did, so 4 of Logan's 7 losses came to playoff teams, which obviously Logan was not.

I don't know why everyone thinks Logan will be worse next year - the reality is that a solid corps of talent returns including 3 linemen, their two best skill players (McCarty and Lindsey), and they will add a talented freshman to be sophomore class to the mix.

Will they be great? No. Will they be better? We'll see. But the entire SEOAL will be a question mark next year - GAHS loses their best defensive players and some good backs but might be the favorite, Jackson loses all their linemen but have Ervin back, Portsmouth will be rebuiliding, Warren should be about the same but lose some talented seniors, and Chillicothe will be young but talented and I'm sure improved.

Assuming that adjustments are made by the coaching staff and the senior class steps up and puts for the effort it takes to win, the SEOAL will be wide open. The playoffs will be a huge stretch, but a league title shouldn't be.

I don't think its a sure thing Logan will be worse next year, but the potential is there,they do have some people coming back but still graduate the whole offensive line and will have another new inexperienced QB to deal with,on offense I think they have to find a way to make it revolve around McCarty somehow and who knows how the defense will do,with Wesselhoft coming back that helps for sure.....the league should be really interesting again next year.
