Logan Chieftains Baseball 2012
Re: Logan Chieftains Baseball 2012
Was out of town this weekend, local rag had the story about Gallia No Hitting the Chiefs. Sounds like Gallia is the class of the SEOAL!

Does anyone have a list of Logan's coaches and season records since 2002? I keep hearing Logan has not had a winning season in a decade but I'm not sure that is true. Does anyone know for sure?

Ron Janey's Chieftains won numerous games and SEOALtitles from the mid-80s until his retirement from coaching. If you wanted to win the SEOAL, you had to go through Logan to do it.

10u boys begin their last week of practice to prep for the preview game against a team from Bloom-Carroll in the Lancaster League preview day on Saturday. Season starts for real on Monday the 30th. Still kicking soccer balls here. Good luck to these boys and all the other teams that are playing baseball outside of Logan this summer.

Logan JV beat Vinton County 12-2 last night. Finish the year 6-12. Improvement but well short of expectations.

Mt Vernon knocks Logan out! Hope the team can improve next year! Will we have fall ball?

Re: Logan Chieftains Baseball 2012
Williams' 10u team is playing through October again I was told. Hopefully others will as well. They beat the defending league champs in their age bracket last week up in Lancaster 9-6. Heard the rec numbers are way down this year for baseball. I've heard upwards of 6 different coaches took their teams out and went to Nelsonville and Lancaster. All different ages. That could be 60-70 kids possibly at $20 a head. Plus sponsorship fee for each team. Not sure what that is maybe $100 per team. If all that is true rec baseball lost around $1500-$2000. That might get someones attention.
