I'm just saying, in the indoor season, I would not trake it to the extreme when it comes to racing. If a team races in indoor districts through indoor State, then the track season is very long. From January all the way to June. That is a long season. Like I said, my opinion portrays more to Cross Country. I agree with what you said about having a distance runner run the 4x800 and 1600/800. But a lot of caoches have ther athletes run all four distance events in every meet. And the kids don't mind it because they think it is helping them. I ran the 3200 meter race only 6 times all years, and 3 of those were the tournament meets. So I only ran 3 3200 meter races in the regular season. That helps alot. Back to my point about Cross County, kids sometimes run a 5k every weekend during the summer. They think the more races the better, but how many kids train ALL summer and are readay to do that. Even the best runners that train all summer should not race every week. I think it is more helpful to run 3, maybe 4 races all summer, then head into cross country with about 3 weeks without running a race so you would be fresh and ready to go in a meet that actually counts.

Well, maybe tell your coach to call me, I would like to see what his theory on this is. It would be and interesting conversation. And I have done all four events once as well, but me and my coached talked about it and it was best for me to help the team out in the conference meet.
