16-16 from the stripe is ridiculous. Great concentration from Legg, definitely will go down as one of the best guards in SVC history.

SVC Preview for tomorrow night(once again, depending on Mother Nature)

Huntington(1-2, 2-4) @ Unioto(3-0, 4-0)- Unioto is off to their best start in nearly a decade, while Huntington has struggled out of the gate. Unioto has a big time advantage in speed and ballhandling, while the Huntsmen will have a major size advantage over the Shermans. Unioto struggled for the 1st half against ZT's matchup zone until busting it in the 3rd, we'll see how they fare against HHS' same zone. Huntington needs to slow down the pace and keep their TO's very low to get the W here, while Unioto needs to get out and go. Unioto by 8

Westfall(0-3, 1-3) @ Southeastern(1-2, 1-3)- Much like the Unioto/Huntington matchup, this will be quickness vs. size. Westfall has a major size advantage(6'3, 6'4, 6'8 up front) while SE has some major athletes and burners(tallest starter 6'4, then 6'1) SE was bound to struggle without Osbourne and Brown, but now that at least Osbourne is back, he's going to give the league fits all year(and when Brown is healthy, watch out!) This should be an interesting matchup, but I think SE gets their 2nd of 3 wins this week, SE by 11.

Piketon(3-0, 5-0) @ Adena(0-3, 0-4)- This one could get ugly very quickly. Adena struggled against Circleville's token pressure early in the year and that was nothing in comparision to what the Redstreaks will bring. Adena will want to slow the tempo and cherish the pumpkin in this game if they want a chance. Must keep the turnovers under 8, IMO, because if it's more, the Piketon will just get out and score, score, and score some more. Legg needs 21 points to get to 1,100 on his career, should get that by the 3rd quarter. Piketon by 29

Zane Trace(2-1, 3-2) @ Paint Valley(2-1, 3-1)- This should be the game of the night. Both teams are coming off of disheartening losses from Tuesday. If either teams wants to still have an outside shot at the league championship(I don't think Piketon will lose in league play) they need to get this W in Bainbridge. Both teams are solid all around, but PV's overall size could cause some problems for the Pioneers. If ZT is without both Whitehouse and LaGard, then they will be in serious trouble if PV can put any pressure on them at all. Should be an exciting game, but I'll take PV by 3.

Saturday's Games:
West Union @ Southeastern- Should be a win for an improving SE squad against a weak WU team. I can see Osbourne having a big, big night in this one. SE by 16
Adena @ Minford- I know next to nothing about Minford, outside of general knowledge. But, Adena will be hungry and will face much less pressure then the night before(vs Piketon). I'll say Adena by 1 in an upset to get their 1st W of the season.

Went to Unioto/Huntington, ugly game with tons of missed FT's, HHS 6-19, UHS 11-31. Unioto led at every break and expanded their lead to as much as 17, Huntington got it down to 2 with a healthy mix of missed FTs by the Shermans and Dylan Gragg. Unioto made 1 out of 2 FTs and Huntington didn't get a shot off to tie it. Gragg had a game high 22, Vickers added 13. Unioto was led by Cole Murray with 12.

SVC Standings:
Piketon 4-0, 6-0
Unioto 4-0, 5-0
Paint Valley 3-1, 4-1
Zane Trace 2-2, 3-3
Huntington 1-3, 2-5
Southeastern 1-3, 1-4
Westfall 1-3, 2-3
Adena 0-4, 0-5

Logan Elm struggled from the line in the fourth quarter, missing eight free throws, but held off Bloom-Carroll 66-60 in a very exciting game.

LOGAN ELM — Gabriel 0-2-2; Thomas 4-5-13; Vagnier 2-4-8; Pritchard 1-4-6; Riffle 5-3-16; Elswick 3-6-14; Stonerock 2-3-7. Three-point goals — Riffle (3) and Elswick (2). Totals — 17-36 27-44 66.
Quarter scores 1 2 3 4 F
Bloom-Carroll 9 14 7 30 60
Logan Elm 11 10 15 30 66

Good game for the falcons. Things seem to get a little sloppy around 4th period when teams start putting lots of pressure on us. Not real good against a full court press right now. Also don`t understand why they are not utilizing Litts height, 6`7", in the post. He is playing mainly from the outside. It`s hurting their rebounding. Sorry, just nit picking. The team is young and will improve.

Washington CH over Madison Plains by double digits at WCH. Kyle Sloan led the Blue Lions with around 25.

Definitely a good ballclub once again for the Blue Lions.

Since there isn't a current Elite 8, I'll bump this up with tomorrow's SVC preview(once again, weather permitting)

Adena(0-4, 0-6) @ Huntington(1-3, 2-5)- Huntington's size and depth up front with cause major problems for the small Warriors. HHS' matchup zone will leave the possibility for Adena to stay close if they can knock down shots, but most of all, be patient. This games winner may not peak out of the 40's, as the Huntsmen play at a very slow pace. I'll take Huntington by 14.

Southeastern(1-3, 2-4) @ Piketon(4-0, 6-0)- There probably won't be a close SVC game played at The Oven all year. But, SE is finally fully healthy and is coming off of a major beatdown of West Union on Saturday, so they will have some confidence. Good guard play all around in this one, but Piketon's ability to just keep bringing waves of talented players at you will be the major difference in this one. Piketon wins this one by 18.

Zane Trace(2-2, 3-3) @ Westfall(1-3, 2-3)- ZT is coming off of 2 tough losses last week, while Westfall is riding high from a surprisingly easy win in Londonderry on Friday. This game will be much bigger this time next year, as both teams are super young. If either team wants to keep their extremely outside shot at a conference title alive, this is a must win. ZT will need to body up big time to deal with a big size disadvantage for them. A battle of good Sophomores up front should be the matchup to watch(Beam-ZT, Stonerock-WF). It's tough to win at the Dome, but ZT pulls this out by 5.

Paint Valley(3-1, 4-1) @ Unioto(4-0, 5-0)- This will be the WKKJ game of the night. Both teams are meeting higher expectations well in the W column and both teams are loaded with senior leaders. PV plays a tough zone, can Unioto force them out of it like they did when facing zones last week? That will be a big ?? in this one, along with, Can PV handle the Unioto defensive pressure? Should be a great game in Frenchtown, 3 of each team's 1st 5 have been decided in the closing moments(where seniors take over) and I believe this will be another one. Unioto by 3.

Hope all is well for you pfloyd and you can get out see some more HS basketball action by this time next week.
