All of you good old boy's, WAKE UP This will be the reason our baseball team will turn the corner in the next few years! Guy's lets face it our rec league sucks! Let's all open our billfolds and help these parents and coaches! Let's face it this is why Athens beats us in baseball every year.Littlechiefs wrote:After seeing the Rec teams and schedule in the paper yesterday there can be no doubt that the coaches and parents playing outside of Logan are doing the right thing. July 1st is the last scheduled game with most ages ending on June 28th. Games begin on May 28th. I contacted Coach Williams last night and wanted to know his teams schedule and where they would be at in comparison. By May 28th the 10u team will have played 20 games between the Lancaster League and 3 Tournaments. They are playing in the Clippers Crusher where they will play 2 night games as well (what a concept, baseball under the lights). Pretty sweet for a group of 10 year olds. The Jaguars Memorial Tournament as well as another in Grove City. By May 28th they have already played more baseball then they would have a chance to in Rec. By June 28th they will have reached 31 games with more to play. They will then play in the Athens Sandlot Tournament. A Cal Ripken Qualifier and FCYBA Open Tournament in Lancaster. They are in the process of booking two more Tournaments in August as well as compete in the Fall League in Lancaster as well. All total they will fall between 60-70 games. Parents were asked to pay $50.00. Less than a $1.00 per game. All uniforms and equipment are paid for by the coaches. All League fees and tournaments paid for by the coaches. What an outstanding opportunity for the kids on this team. It can be done folks. If you really want to do it.
