Dont know about you- but I hate the brewers and it's even sweeter when we beat them. Now we need the reds to choke a few! What's up with the cards all the sudden? No help from them for sure....

Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
Sept. 28th, 29th, and 30th could be a very interesting weekend series!
Who will be able to stick out the Dog Days of Summer?
EVERY game counts for the Reds and Bucks from here on out!
I hope both teams are tied for first place the coming down to the wire!
Baseball has gotten to be so much fun since the Reds and the Pirates are fighting it out for first place every night......

Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
Bucs have hit homeruns in 20 of their last 22 games. The offense has finally arrived, for the most part, but we still have too many strikeouts and need to cut down on these and put the ball in play to make the other teams work for their put outs. Bucs went 3-3 on this past road trip but could have easily been 5-1 with a major cut back in strike outs.Black Panther wrote:Back in first place again! We still need an everyday left handed power hitter. Will we trade away some of our quality pitchers for this? System is stocked right now with good pitching from A ball to the majors. Also, even though Hanrahan seems to have righted his ship and is 23 of 26 in save opportunities, I would have no problem moving Grilli to the closer spot and Lincoln to the setup role. As a matter of fact, Lincoln can just about pitch in any circumstance.
Important 6 game home stand coming up with 3 each against the Marlins (44-47 but lead the majors in quality starts but lack the offense) and the Cubs (37-53 who are looking to unload major salary i. e Dempster etc and build to the future). Bucs need to win both series and make some hay at home and put pressure on the Joey Votto-less Reds.
LETS GO BUCS!!!

I called the Jones HR yesterday.I was sitting there thinking just get one in the air and maybe we'll get a mile high/coors field homer. And sure enough on the next pitch there she went!"You Can Kiss It Good-Bye!"

Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
The Buccos have taken the first two games against the Marlins...Great pitching performance by Burnett tonight. If we can get that team down river to lose we may be able to take over first. We won't go away, so it's going to go down to the end if need be.. "We Had Em All The Way!"
Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
What team scored the most runs in MLB during the month of June?
Pittsburgh.
Which team leads the Majors in runs scored for the month of July?
Pittsburgh. Who would have imagined that after the horrible offensive showing during April and May?
We still need a power hitting left-handed bat that makes contact routinely with low strikeouts.
Bucs go for the series sweep today vs the Fish. Karstans takes the hill to face Sanchez.

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!
Bucs record their 4th series sweep of the season as Karstans goes 7 strong and Alvarez slams his 21st homer of the season. McCutchen gets 2 more hits to raise his MLB leading average to .372
Bucs entertain the Cubs in a 3 game set starting Monday night.

Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
After losing two of three to the Cubs, the Buccos have won the first three of four from Houston.Losing the two to the Cubs cost us two games in the standings because the team in first never loses.
Just got to keep pace.... :122249

I'd still love to hang out with a couple of you dirty Pirate fans this Sunday! Whose gonna make the trip to GABP?
Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
Sorry, I would relish the chance to meet up in Cincy but I'm setting sail for the warm salt water off the Carolinas later this week. Going looking for Black Beard's treasure and his ghost ship the Queen Anne's revenge. :122249Orange and Brown wrote:Sunday Aug. 5th I will be at Great american Ballpark with my Nephew who lives in Cinci. I'll be sure to follow all the Bucco action from Margaritaville the next week.
Bucs need to keep winning on this road trip. Nice to take 3 of 4 from the Astros but we could have easily gotten swept by them as all 3 of our wins were by 1 run and that included alot of help from the Astros. They remind of what we looked like the past few years as they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in our first 3 games of the series.
Bucs are blowing into the Windy City for a 3 game set vs the Cubbies and we need to take 2 of 3 before we head to the Queen City to take on the red-hot Redlegs.
Bedard takes the hill for the Buccos in game 1.
LETS GO BUCS!!!
Re: Talkin' Bucs 2012
Bucs 5 Cubs 0
Buccos bounce back with a win in game 2 to keep pace with the red hot Reds as AJ Burnett tosses a complete game 1 hitter to get his 13th win of the season. Burnett was lights out 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB and 8 Ks.
Walker provides all the offense as he hits a first inning grand slam.
Pirates made several moves at the trading deadline and pickup former All-star 1st baseman Sanchez from the Marlins and left-handed hitting outfielder Travis Snider from the Jays. Lets hope Snider performs in the Burgh like Batista has for Toronto when he was dealt from the Bucs. I'm not happy the Bucs gave up Lincoln, the best bullpen pitcher in the majors this year. Corriea made no bones that since he was demoted to the pen he wanted out of the Burgh. Should have kept Lincoln and moved him into the rotation to take Bedard's spot and dealt Corriea along with a minor league pitcher or two instead. Hope the trades work out as both Sanchez and Snider have 3+ years left on their contracts or before they can file for free agency.
Bucs send out Karstens to take the hill vs Wood in game 3.
