Westsider1993,
Did you pass on my compliment to the youngsters on that West 7th Grade team after the West-Minford game? Those two groups are going to be exciting to watch when they reach the high school level, and should experience quite a bit of success!

They are welcome! My youngest son is a 3rd grader at West and he was cheering for his big brother on Minford's 7th grade team, but cheering for West's team to win lol They seem like a great group of kids personally in addition to the talent level on the field. I hope that blend of run-pass they use with the Jr High group is balanced in HS as well, because they will be very successful...especially with kids like Irwin and company providing leadership when those 7th graders become Freshmen.

I wonder why no one talks about our JV and Freshman teams and only the varsity or 7th graders? Everyone does understand we have a Jv team that hasnt been scored on and put up about 80 in there first game? Everyone does understand we have an undefeated freshman team that has a point differential of around 40? Everyone does understand we have around 20 freshmen led by Mr. Josh Davis right? It seems to me (I say "seems" and is just my opinion) that everyone thinks or doesnt give us a chance til the 7th graders come up. I know the 7th is good and has a split record but really? Believe me we are fine for the future...near future...not just 5 years down the road.

That’s what I’ve been hearing. Good for them boys. Maybe they will be able to get in the tight formations and run down peoples throats like West always wants to?
But I have a question for you Sider1, does the JV, Freshman, or 7th grade throw the ball very much?? I hear they have some good QB’s down there.

You win in Ohio by running the football and stopping the run first. You do need to be diverse some to keep the defense honest. Not to pick on the Waverly guy, but they have always been a pass first team going back to Ed Bolin. They've had some great teams, but also some stinkers also, especially in the last ten years.

As far as Chesapeake. Who is that #3. Great size, speed, and hands. Allover the place on offense and defense. Should play college receiver.

Tell Kenton that, and you can't stop the run if you don't practice defense at least 50% of your practice week. Defense wins games.

Kenton is just one style, How many do you know of? Lets look at DIV V last year. Do you know who won the state championship? Kirkland did. Their offense
was a staked I and they threw the ball 3 times against Coldwater in the chamionship, which Kirkland won by thirty. (Kirkland also beat Wynford by 30 also)

Well to be fair im not gonna post what they do on here. Lets just say they can do what they want to anyone they want so far speaking anbout JV and Freshmen. I know its going to get harder with the SOC opponents coming up. Lets see if it stays the way it has so far but I dont see much changing and yes we have 4 significant QB's 1 in 10th besides Irwin, 1 in 9th, 1 in 8th, and 1 in 7th. We are as most people say "stacked" all the way down to the pee wee kids in every position.

I was the assistant coach for Valley's Jr High Bball program last year. I know that 8th grade group (now freshmen) had as excellent a football season as they did Bball. Unfortunately, I was busy having my knee put back together last fall and didn't get to follow them in football. How did West's freshman group fair against the Indians. I know Valley won the game, but what type of game was it? I love the fact that West has a freshman program because its more opportunity for those kids to develop!
