How weird is that! Why on earth would you leave Wisky to go coach the Beavers?? After Oregon State's head coach leaves the school to coach at Nebraska, fellow B1G coach Gary Anderson leaves Wisconsin to go coach them!

Media speculation is that Anderson was tired of AD Barry Alvarez poking his nose into the Wisky football program. Also supposed tight restrictions on academic standards for the players that Anderson was trying to recruit to Madison. If he was not happy, it is a good move for Anderson and both universities if Wisky can get a decent {not great) hire. Just speculation, did the Badger players know their coach was leaving before the TOSU game,
and if so, did that contribute to their collapse against the Buckeyes?

He is not stupid. OSU is going to be the wedge that keeps him from a conference title for years to come at Wisky. Not that he has a better chance at Oregon St, but I would think the pressure to win a conference championship is much lower.

Wisconsin gets the guy they wanted in the first place in Paul Cryst.

When fat boy Brent left, Cryst had just set up shop at Pitt and didn't leave.
Now, Cryst comes back.

Wisconsin loses the better coach, but gains a guy that Alvarez can push around.

Wisconsin has been the same team, just different names on the jerseys for almost 2 decades.

They'll still compete for the west, and lose to the best.

I heard they didn't pay his assistants enough money and the eligibility standards for players were too strict,Alverez was always nosing around in the program making him uncomfortable ,still weird how it all turned out.

Tom Herman will be the Houston head coach
Official announcement should come today.

No word on his status for the playoffs.

Rumor was that win or lose, the Bama game would be his last at OSU.

The question is will he be gone before the playoffs? Houston plays Pitt on January 2nd so I would think Herman will take over immediately after that game.

Now the question will be who calls the plays against Bama and who takes over the big shoes Herman left to fill? Do they go out and hire a big time OC?

IMO, this shows that Wisconsin, with BA running the athletic department is not going to be a big time player on the college football scene. The Buckeyes rule the Big 10 and will continue to do so.
