Reds vs. Pirates

Post by Sue E. Side »

Great first game, blew a few chances to take the lead but Griffey got it done in the 9th. Need a good streak going into the All Star break.

I was at the game Monday night, and that homerun that
Griffy made in the botton of the ninth for the win, was sweet!!!

As Lanny would say "There was noooooooo doubt about it" Why is'nt Lanny in the broadcasters wing of the HOF yet? He is just a good as Brennaman.Maybe some day I guess...

He is starting to worry me too...Sanchez was shakey but got it done.He is still a rookie... Need a good outing form Van Benschooten tomorrow night....I think I just butchered his last name.LOL

I think they should have kept Ty Taupheim (sp) in the Burgh instead of sending back down after his quality start against the Rays the other day.

The planets will have to be aligned for VanBanschooten (sp) to make it into the 5th or longer. Could be a long night for the Buccos.

Weathers would not look good in a Pirates uniform.

As for a pathetic opponent, the Buccos enjoy a 1 game lead over the celler dwelling Cincinnati Dead Legs.

At worst, we will be tied after tonights game.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

I woke up this morning fully expecting that Dusty Baker's step son, Corey patterson, would be released. I guess not. I also thought 56 year old David Weathers would be on the wire today. No chance.

Game 3 final...

Pittsburgh 9 Cincinnati 5

Raise the Jolly Roger!

On a down note for the Bucs, they have lost Capps for 8 weeks with shoulder problems. Thats 4 pitchers in the last month to go on the DL for the Burg. I guess it will be closer by committee for awhile with Yates or Grabow.

It will most likely be Yates and Marte. We need to sweep teams like the Reds, but as Meat Loaf sang, "two out of three aint bad" And as Lanny says, "There was noooooooooooo doubt about it" Im glad I will be able to hear the Pirates announcers again. This George Grande dude was hard to take.Bad team(Reds) and a bad/annoying announcer in my opinion...Yes, RAISE THAT JOLLY ROGER!!!

George Grande isn't that bad, it is the god awful Welsh I don't like, and Jeff Brantley does a terrible job on the radio.
