Re: Police release video of Michael Layne @ ND Elementary
looks like he was wasted....he was kicking the door ,,and then seemed to be pulling back on them to try to get them open.

He didn't appear to be in any more of a hurry to get out than he did to get in.

How long is the video?
I want to see it but if it is to long I won't be able to download it.
Figure it takes me 1/2 an hour per minute of video

it is 49 seconds long but i wouldn't wait a 1/2 hour to see it, it's pretty uneventful

What I don't understand from the released video is that in a previous statement the principal stated that he gained entrance because a student had walked by a sensor and allowed him to enter. I don't see any student in the video and it seems he had more trouble getting out than in the building.
Previous statement:
School door unlocked by sensor allowed entry in teacher stabbing

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio—A man who police say stabbed his estranged wife in front of her fifth-grade class entered the building after a student inside walked by a motion sensor that unlocked a door, the school's principal said.
The building's security system worked as designed, and it was only a coincidence that William Michael Layne was able to enter, Principal Kay Kern told the Portsmouth Daily Times. She said the motion sensors are part of a fire safety system.

The sensor isn't in immediate proximity to the door. I believe it's on the steps or right at the top of the steps. The way it was explained to me, the sensor allows the door to be unlocked but it doesn't open it. The child may have passed by the sensor at the top of the steps but not been in view of the camera.

What I unstood from a parent was the student walked by the sensor on the way to the bathroom and I dont beieve the bathroom is in the camera either. It still appeared that this guy had no remorse after his actions.
