man, you should see portsmouth west, the area where you enter into it, along the highway, it look just like kentucky lake. big time flooding there, yesterday.

Re: WATER WATER EVERYWHERE
I went into downtown Ironton around 5:00 PM last evening which means crossing the Storms Creek [at its mouth to the Ohio River] bridge on N 2nd St. The water was nearly to the underside of the bridge.
The runoff from previous rains to our north filtering down all creeks/streams toward the River is probably going to get our Ironton floodgates UP - whatever we get over the next couple of days is only going to make it worse!
Thank goodness for this [Thurs] fair day, but I doubt one day was enough time to absorb all the recent rainfall over the entire watershed.
As much as I hate the idea of snow, at least snow doesn't raise water levels as quickly as rain does. But, of course, its impact will come later with melting which will extend and prolong flooding problems. Bad news all the way around!
Whatever the weather brings - it looks like we're in for a lousy weekend and problems for some time to come!
