My dad started me out fly rod fishing when I was a pop with surface poppers for bluegills when I was a boy. It was a blast. I have eyed them again of late. The new carbon fiber rods are a fraction of the weight of the others.

I tried it once but I couldn't get the flies to stay on the hook. :122247

never used a fly rod, but have fished with flys with a spincaster. for bluegills , and trout, and panfish. easier out of a boat.
