Amazing game, Hitchens' speed end up winning the game. He took some awful shots during the game, although he made a few of them also, but came up large when he needed to. Where is Chambers going to college, he should have raided his stock after this game.
But [never mind actual "geographical" location] Sugarcreek Garaway is defined as "southeastern", and they are playing for the Div III State Championship in a few hours! LET'S MAKE IT 2 FOR 2 - GO GARAWAY
Congratulations Chilli! Big players step up in big games. Hitchens was the only one on the floor that could have gotten the ball down the court with the time left and put them in position to win.
Congratulations to the 2008 DII STATE CHAMPION CHILLICOTHE CAVALIERS!!
You have joined that special fraternity..........STATE CHAMPIONS!!
My only concern for this game was that the Cavaliers needed to take better care of the ball than they did vs. Poland, and for the most part they did. Their defense really stepped it up after being down 40-24, and the duo of Anthony Hitchens and Ray Chambers really caught fire after halftime. But the DEFENSE from the middle of the third quarter on was outstanding.........forcing Libbey into numerous turnovers which CHS converted into points.
Everybody for Chillicothe contributed to the win.......Knights, Beverly, Dawes, and Smith........all made plays to help Hitchens and Chambers overcome the Cowboys.
Mr. Basketball William Buford of Libbey played an outstanding game for Libbey, and he stepped up his game today.........the Cowboys looked in control, but CHS fought back.......and in the end, Hitchens to Chambers wins the state championship!!
Congratulations once again to EVERYBODY in the Chillicothe community......the players, coaches, fans, and city..............
I expect to see a sign on the edge of town soon that says...................
