Ohio North South All Star Game

Post by 1fan1 »

Game is Sunday, April 20th at Capital University in Columbus. Not as much hoopla as the KY-OH game that combined all divisions for 15 players from Ohio; this one has more players from Ohio playing against one another, and divided into two divisions. Still, a great honor and good weekend of competitions, practices and basketball.

Here's a look at the complete rosters for the OHSBCA North-South All-Star Games:

BOYS

How does Chambers make the Ohio vs Kentucky game but not the Ohio North vs South team?

probably because he had already accepted a bid to play in the district all star game, therefore filling his alloted two all star game slots.

i also wonder if selections go to the first teamers all state for each division?

The North South game players are the "player of the year""selections within their own coaching district. Anthony Hitchens was the player of the year in District 14 which means he is the North South rep. Dustin Guthrie is the player of the year in District 13 which means he is the North South rep, etc.........When one district has more than one really good player, it makes it tough because obviously there can only be one player of the year. Therefore Ray Chambers didn't get selected. There used to be a stipulation where the coach could add one player of his choice, but I don't know if they still do that or not. This allowed the coach to take a player who maybe was deserving but wasn't the player of the year in his district.

Congrat to Hitchens and Guthrie what time would this game start and how much is admission? I would also like to see the Avery boy from Newark play again. He was great in the state tournament. Is there a girls roster also?

Congrats to Tyler Shoemaker, you had a great year. Hope to get to the game. Chesapeake should be very proud of you. Way to go.
