D2 regional setup

Post by ztpioneers1 »

I know that I am looking far ahead with these questions, but just want some information on it. I noticed that the southeast district gets 2 athens representatives this year in the regional. One athens or Southeast district team will play a Clairsville representative and one will play a zanesville rep. Who are the best teams in these two sections? Records? I am thinking that it is possible to have a southeast team in the state tournament if they can get past these zv and clairville sections.

I think he is asking who are the best teams in the Zanesville and St. Clairsville districts who may be coming to the Athens Regional.

One of these teams comes to the Athens regional from St. Clairsville:
Beaver Local, Buckeye Local, Carrollton, East Liverpool, Edison Local, Harrison Central, Indian Creek, Meadowbrook, Minerva, Steubenville, St. Clairsville.

One of these teams comes to the Athens regional from Zanesville:
Cambridge, Claymont, Dover, Indian Valley, John Glenn, Maysville, Morgan, New Philadelphia, Philo, River View, West Holmes

I'm thinking Dover(9-5) and New Philly(10-4) are good candidates from Zanesville, but I don't have an idea from St. Clairsville.

John Glenn is 11-2 and has almost everyone back from their team that barely lost to Hartley in the regional finals last year. They lost by 3 to Dover in Dover and by 12 to Cambridge at Cambridge.

New Philadelphia is a notch above the rest in the Zanesville district. They are young though, starting 3 sophomores and playing 2 others consistently. Not much size, but is super athletic at most positions. They should be real good for a couples years to come. Dover is pretty good too. Cambridge and Claymont will be tough on any given night and as raiderbobcat stated John Glenn has a good record. I don't know much about the other side in St. Clairsville, but I know St. C has a real good ball player.
