I'm gonna jump out on a limb on this one:

Athens - 56
Vinton County - 54

- Overtime

Lets just go ahead and call it "Miracle at McAfee 2!"

What is the status of Devon Sharp? Saw him with the team in Cheasapeake, but he did not play.

He was not with the team. He is possibly getting ready for track. Grades clobbered him. Losing him has forced Skinner and Burrow into different roles, which they are getting more sound every game.

It looks like the Bulldogs will have a short winning streak! :-D
Good luck to both teams, but better luck to the Vikes.
A Vikes win tonight could very well sow up the TVC OHIO.

GO VIKES

You still have to travel TO WELLSTON and play a 'dangerous' Nelsonville-York team ... Wouldn't count on a league title until you beat at least two-of-the-three (Athens, Wellston, NY)

Nelsonville-York did in fact beat Meigs tonight 86-58 - which puts the Bucks & Bulldogs one game back with a lot of basketball to be played ... Athens still has to travel to NY, which will most likely knock one of them out of the TVC-Ohio race ... Vinton County still has to play AT WELLSTON and Nelsonville-York ... Thanks to the Bulldogs for making the TVC-Ohio a little intresting now! I was getting worried thinking there might not be any drama in the league what-so-ever for an entire season ... lol

BTW ... I didn't take a lot - but there are some pics of the Athens/VC game on ... http://www.facebook.com/tvcohio

Bulldogs did a great job finding Chesser, Remy and Kidd all night long on defense. Bulldogs led by 2 at the end of quarters two and three, before slowly pulling away for the win. Athens was 1-4 from the 3 point line and Vinton hit 6 three's, but the Bulldogs hurt Vinton at the basket. Athens was 7 of 12 from the line and Vinton was 5 of 11. It was a fun game to watch if you enjoy defense. Great win Bulldogs!!

A big win for Athens on their homecourt. They played solid defense and didn't allow VC to score much at all around the rack.

The Vikings looked like a team that hadn't played in nearly two weeks. While they showed glimpses of intensity, over all they didn't play to the same level that the Bulldogs did. Congrats to Athens.

IMO, the TVC is by-in-large pretty weak compared to other conferences throughout SE Ohio this year. That being said, anyone who thinks VC is gonna walk through conference play with another league crown should have their head examined.

Had to have mine examined last week Ty Webb - and yep, there is something wrong up their ...

I was in the group that thought maybe VC would walk through the TVC-Ohio - but I had only seen them once (the 30-point blow-out over Athens early in the season.) ... I still think they are a really, really good basketball team - they just didn't shoot well last night versus Athens and they never attacked the rim? Remy, Kidd and Chesser are way to athletic to just pass the ball around the 3-point line all night.

Something I did really enjoy was the sportsmanship out of both teams last night ... There was no trash talking, after two guys would fight for a loose ball - neither player threw elbows or gave the other a dirty look ... I seen on a few occasions a player slapping the opposing teams player on the back after a hard foul or accidently knocking them to the ground ... etc... etc... I was told in an e-mail that Josh Skinner/Nick Stanley told the student section to back off the floor and wait until they shook hands with VC before storming the court (out of respect for the Vikings) ... All in all - there was quit a bit of class being shown by all those young men on the court for both teams.

General, you didn't hear me, I didn't say anything. It is not my thing.

The Vikings will be fine, they will learn from this and build from it.
