Re: All SEOAL
Congratulations to all the players who are being recognized.
I find it interesting that there has been six hours elapsed since I first posted the team and there is not one complaint. Does this mean that everyone is in agreement with the selections?
I will make the same complaint that I have made in past years. Their should be an offense and a defense selected by position.

We have had this complaint for several years and we seem to get nowhere with it.pappy1 wrote:Congratulations to all the players who are being recognized.

Maybe we have given up.
Re: All SEOAL
Thanks for posting the full team, pappy1. I hadn't had a chance to post it yet.
Congratulations to all who were selected!
Every year, there are several worthy players who are left off the list. Usually, as a bit of consolation, those players earn All-District honors, but it's still unfortunate. Nevertheless, this is the system we have and that's what we have to live with.

Re: All SEOAL
First and foremost congratulations to all the players for being selected to the All-SEOAL Football Team. I do find it very interesting to see that there were two MVP's selected from the same team - Jackson. Knowing how the voting is done, unless it was changed this year, there is no way that there could be two MVP's from the same team. There are six teams in the SEOAL and a coach cannot vote for their own players so that leaves 5 head coaches voting for these two players.

Re: All SEOAL
Glad to see Sean Wotring made the cut. Had an outstanding year for the purple and white. He made one of the biggest plays of the year when he stripped Brandon Taylor in the 4th quarter at Gallipolis to help the Chieftains get their only win.
McCarty was Logan's best player, Wotring their most valuable IMO.
And Aaron Wolfe did an outstanding job playing guard, then center, and defensive tackle as well.

I believe it is mathematically possible. Don't know if this is how it happened but here is what I believe is an explanation.Bldevls5 wrote:First and foremost congratulations to all the players for being selected to the All-SEOAL Football Team. Coaches A&B vote for player A
Coaches C&D vote for player B
Coach E votes for player C.
Players A&B get two votes each and tie for MVP.
Re: All SEOAL
Other sports sometimes do it that way and it could happen.
Often district POY ends in a fishy tie.

Congratulations to all selectees! Don't forget though that it took everyone for anyone to excell. :aaaaa41 :aaaaa59 :aaaaa57 :aaaaa56
Re: All SEOAL
For sure their was lots of support behind the players on this team. Support from family, coaches, teammates, students and communiy. On the co MVP issue listed above, I just heard that there was a third place in the voting. Surprisingly it was a lineman.

Re: All SEOAL
Coaches can not vote for their own player - so the Jackson coach would not have been able to vote for either MVP. That adds evidence to bldvls5 scenario.

GAHS and Warren coaches vote for Osburne
Portsmouth and Logan coaches vote for Ervin
Chillicothe coach votes for Taylor
Jackson coach votes for Guisinger
Osburne and Ervin are co MVPs
Actually do not know, this is just a scenario that could have occurred.
