VC 3rd straight undefeated TVC season

The Vikes have not lost a TVC game in over 3 seasons!! Great job since this was supposed to be a down year. Combs and his players did what they do best....WIN!!!!

Bad news for the TVC is that VC returns 4 of 5 starters and 7 of the top 9 in the rotation. Congrats to the graduating seniors you will be missed.

This TVC championship is special on many levels for me, first and foremost my son was part of the team. As he will tell you he was a "glorified spectator" but in reality he is a great teammate and he live and die with his team's successes and stumbles from game to game. He exemplified what it meant to be a member of a Viking squad coached by Coach Combs; unselfish, passionate, competitive and hard working. I am extremely proud of him, he might not be a great player, but someday he will be a great man and if God can bless him, someday a great father. Secondly, with the addition of Athens, this trek through the TVC was more difficult than years before. Lastly, no one, I mean no one other than those who were either a player, a coach, or a parent knew what these kids were capable of, they are winners, and they have the heart of champion. Not to take anything away from the previous titles, but to me, this TVC championship is extra special.

This championship was different because not everybody thought VC was the "team to beat" in the league this year like the last two.

Most had VC in the top three along with Belpre and Alexander, with Alexander probably tapped as the preseason favorite.

Not only did VC win the league, they did not lose a league game.

Yes, I can't believe noone has wrote that yet. Well, before they do, let me state that VC was only 5-3 in the non-league, so they have improved the non-league schedule. Also, two of their non-league wins were against D1 Logan and South Point, who was 20-0 last season. So, I'd say they really tried their best to toughen it up. Good job on a great season, Vikings!

A real league where everyboby at D-4 school came from a D-1 or a D-2-D-3 school no thanks.
Vinton County boys are all homegrown what more can we say we have the best coaching staff and we own the T.V.C. so go ahead take your shots next year pick Alexander,Belpre Meigs and Wellston like you did this year to beat V.C.
