This will be one of the biggest tests for the Viking boys. Hillsboro is very athletic and good. VC cannot afford to look sluggish against this team. Plus they have to control game tempo , out rebound , and hit their free throws. VC has the talent to win this game. So does Hillsboro.

Not real sure why everyone is making Hillsboro the favorite. They had a poor finish to their regular season losing to Eastern Brown and than getting man-handled by North Adams. They also lost a few more towards the end of the season. They only beat Div 4's Fairfield and Whiteoak by like 2 points or something? They cant be that strong - if they were in the Division 3 sectional at Waverly I believe they would have been a #5 or #6 seed. Vinton County should be a 3-5 point favorite for this game.

Can anyone post on Hillsboro's team? What are their strong points? What type of depth do they have? Starting lineup etc... I saw where someone said they had a nice post player but thats it.

Have not seen either team play, but based on the last few years, VC may have the edge by playing in the Convo. IMO, VC will bring a big crowd as well. VC should be proud of the following they get.

This should be a good game, but Hillsboro did end the year on a few losses. The N.A. loss was one that could happen, but not by 20. I was surprised they lost to Eastern Brown.

Have you seen Hillsboro play? I agree that Vinton will have to play well to win. Hillsboro has a very nice team, and may be considered the favorite in this game. However, they are not nearly as good as Piketon. Hillsoboro is small and quick, while Piketon is big, strong, and quick.

From what I have read on the other site it sounds as if Hillsboro has problems defending teams with decent big men. If thats the case look for Prater and Guthrie to have big games. Also I have read where Hillsboro is very guard heavy. VC has fared well against teams like this year and if these are true statements I like VC's chances.

hillsboro beat western brown who started 6'7, 6'4, and 6'4.
their quickness negates the height advantage. a team with good size and good guards will definitely cause them problems.
