Last info I was given is that SP is out, Green is in. Should be RH vs. Green on Monday 7/6. Winner plays Ironton on 7/7. I believe the tourney site is still at Green but we'll see.

I was just told that Williamsport approved Green to participate in this tournament. It should set up like this.

Game 1. Green vs. Rock Hill - 7/6 (Rock Hill wins 18-4)
Game 2. (Rock Hill) vs. Ironton - 7/7 (Ironton wins 5-2)
Game 3. (Green) vs. (Rock Hill) 7/9 (Rock Hill wins 12-5)
Game 4. (Rock Hill) vs. (Ironton) 7/10 (Ironton wins 9-0)

All games to be played at Symmes Valley. Weeknight games to start at 5:30 and Saturday games TBD.

I believe Ironton and Rock Hill swept the season series from Green.

Ironton and Rock Hill split their season series 2-2.

i would like to know how ironton kept a buy when sp dropped and green moved back that shouldve moved rock hill into a buy who decided that ironton kept the buy. and also why does one team get to load up with the top players from other schools if the kids want to play that is fine but the other schools in the tournamount should have a option to pick up the players also just looks like a lot a favoritism going to one team but nothing ever changes right.

Ironton got a bye because they were the #4 team drawn in the original bracket. If there are any byes they go to the teams with the highest number in the draw. No matter who dropped out, Ironton would have gotten a bye in a 3 team bracket simply because of the luck of the draw when the original bracket was drawn.

Not sure that a team is "loading up" on players. If a team plays in interleague but chooses not to play in postseason, its players may be combined with another league. The team that folds cannot have players play for more than one team in the tournament. Also, this is nothing new. I can think of recent years when Rock Hill, South Point and Fairland have had the opportunity to pick up players from teams that folded.

nice win for the Ironton club tonight. were up most of the game and rh had a 2 run hr (nice shot ) to tie it up in the bottom of the 6th. Ironton scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th, sparked by a nice 2 run hit by Tanner Riley. 1 more win will mean a repeat trip to the state tourny for Ironton. Hope they go out friday and take care of business.

Just to set this straight, this isn't the first time that another team has picked up players, in fact, Rock Hill Sr. League picked up players from Coal Grove in 2005. With the low numbers of teams in the Senior League, isn't it just good to know that kids in our area have a chance to play. Heck, back in the day, I coached some pretty good players from Rock Hill that wore the orange and black. Here's something that I bet a lot of people don't know, there are districts that play their tournament and when it's over, they pick an all-star team from their entire district to send to state.

Awesome post. Probably just hear a giant sucking sound, now that the truth is out. Ironton has 2 high schools in town. We have always had kids from both schools represented in all stars. When was 13, we went to state tourny in Jefferson Ohio, up by Cleveland. We took 14 boys. I believe 8 went to Ironton and 6 went to St Joe.
