West has a solid team. Mostly sophomores and juniors. About 25 kids getting snaps on O and D. No great individual players but solid.

I don't understand the not in shape comment. That's what won the game last night. West didn't have any cramps and they wore Fairland out the 2nd half. Fairland score should've been worse but West got complacent up 2 scores and the ball in Fairlands redzone. West fumbled and Fairland tacked on a td with a few seconds left. Gotta finish games but some of that is maturity.

I think this should be a competitive game, Portsmouth is getting better at running the I but the passing game needs work to keep people from stuffing the box. Not sure what West brings to the table this year but from past experience I expect them to have a good sized line, hard nosed defenders and at least one back that you have to put maximum effort into bringing down.

You really never know about the Fairland game when it's the first game of the year. They've gave West fits even on some of our better teams.

I could see the Portsmouth game going either way. Portsmouth is better. West is better. We just don't have any individuals that can make big plays on their own like previous. But West is well coached and has a bunch of solid football players

I don't think anybody's giving Fairland enough credit. They have a small team and wore out quick, but they have some very good position players. West's D got lazy on several drives, but Fairland was making plays. I was actually pretty impressed by both teams.
