Ironton player headed to the Bluegrass State.

Nikki Elswick, a 6'2 junior will be transferring to Paul Blazer to play basketball,softball, and volleyball for the Tomcats. This is a huge loss for Ironton. I can remember years ago Ironton would get some quality players from other schools. Now kids are leaving Ironton. What's going on? Good Luck to the Tigers and Tomcats.

I hate to see her go also however she quit the basketball team several times last year. Even told her team mates she hoped they lost the playoff game. I wish her well at Ashland and hope she realizes what team means.

If I remember correctly,she would have to sit out a year.

If this is true I dont think she would have to sit out as long as she is enrolled at the said school.The only way a player would have to sit out would be for example:If they started the school year and went out for the team and then transfered they would have to wait til next year to play.I think they put this rule in to keep players from transfering mid season. (which has happend)

This is a fact. I know from a reliable source in Ashland, KY that Nikki Elswick will be going to Paul Blazer. Her father has already established residence in Ashland, Ky. It's a done deal!

The reason I asked this was,if I remember right,Roger Zornes' son Joe left Ironton the summer of his senior year and was going back to Boyd County,only to find out he was not going to be able to play,thus playing for Ironton his Senior year.
Also thats why we ended up with Cliff Howard.Who had just left living with his mother out of state to live with his father who lived in state.

I hope for Nikki's sake everything has been researched,so she doesn't miss out on a year.


I hate to see Nikki leave,but in the same sense I wish her well.

Please don't make this sound as if it was a one time incident. Since you seem to know so much, what about the Minford game? How about the Chillicothe game? Have you forgotten what happened at both those games?

Are you really going to say the coach has something personal against her?

Where ever she plays, I wish her the best and hope she is happy there.

I dont know,but,Ironton dose have a point guard that most teams would die for in Brea Tackett.What makes her so special is the fact that not only does she run the offense she is a three point threat as well.Good ball handler and passer too.Be thankful for that...
