concerned about flooding this weekend and middle next week

You know how droughts can be hard to shake and seem to linger. The same thing can sometimes be said about a wet weather pattern. After the 1 to 3 inches of rain since Monday. creeks are running high in many areas.

The next low pressure system developing in the rocky mountains will track northeast across the Great Lakes this weekend. This will pull a lot of gulf moisture into the Ohio Valley with showers and thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday. Probably a couple inches of rain in SE Ohio.

Then another low pressure system will develop and take much the same path from the Central US into the Lakes by the middle of next week. A direct SW almost tropical flow from the gulf of mexico.

This can be a long term pattern that is hard to shake. The soil gets saturated and can stay that way all the way into the summer.

This has been a crazy winter and spring. I am afraid it's going to be another really wet summer as well. That stinks for a fisherman like me!
