Cavalier Football 2011

Post by buckcraze »

It is too far into June to not have heard much about the up coming season.

First, I've been to two seven on sevens, it is nice that they do one up here like today for me anyway, and I sure hope we have a decent o-line. To me, our passing game leaves a lot to be desired, but I will say it got better as the day went on today. Chilly made a Harvest Prep defense that was twice as athletic look real silly several times, but we n misfired a few times as well. Room for improvement, but could get a lot better, there is potential.

Second, how about this idea of the MSL or OCC move?

A lot of the names above must be young or they have moved in from last year--just can't place most of them.

:-D Yeah, my apologies Noreply, I did that trying to coax some response out of the Chilly people. Obviously it did not reach too many CAVS fans in Chilly. So to make up for leading you astray, I will try to give you some insight to those names(it will not be perfect, but I know the generalities).

Not many expected the Cavs to go 4-6 last year, with a new coach and a new system 4-6 was a pleasant surprise.... I don't think 6-4 is out of the question for this year.

Chuck Jones had a lot of talent , had a full ride to Ohio State but flunked out of high school. Should have stuck with baseball.

You have Dillon Osbourne rated higher than Art Adams at DE? Adams played at OU. How about Obidiah Harris that played at Buffalo?

Dillion was a good player but not at their abilities.

Well, being born and bred in Ironton as an Ironton Tiger, I never thought the day would come that I followed another team just as closely. But I have lived in Chillicothe now for the last 10 years. My daughter has known nothing but Chillicothe schools. Through the years, I have gotten to know many of the boys personally who will now take the field for CHS and for my daughter, CHS is to her what IHS was to me. 2011 will be the first year I go into a season with 2 teams I now consider MY team. Now my only problem is what to do when they play each other..........

As for a line-up, I just know the Howard kid at nose tackle was great to watch as a freshman last year...... lookout if he has gottenn bigger and better than last year.

ok CAVS fans, is anyone out there? I'm coming down to the scrimmage tomorrow morning, what we going to see? Wheelersburg is a smaller school, but from my southern Ohio roots I know they will bring the wood! Is Chilly ready for this kind of football? Who do we look for? What is our strength? I know from my early days there are plenty of you at the fence watching practice, what's going on?

WOW! NO LINE, NO BACKS, NO QB, NO TACKLING! Looks like slim pickings this year! The Elliot boy was in street clothes, according to people close to him, he has been caught in a custody dispute between his divorced parent and is currently waiting on a ruling of eligibility from the state. Without him Chilly could be in trouble. The Qbs that played missed 2 wide open, and I mean by 15 yards wide open touchdown passes by a wide margin. There were 7-8 Wheelersburg tacklers at the football every play as the Chilly linemen stood at the line of scrimmage and watched. No explosiveness from any of the backs. I am glad I did not count missed tackles, I would have needed an adding machine. The receivers caught a few short passes but 1 let the ball go through his hands for a pick. The numbers are up, but the quality needs a ton of improvement in my opinion. I do see potential in some areas, so let's hope the coaching staff can get the boys motivated and coached up. Good luck to the CAVS this season, I will always be rooting for you!

Just commenting on the scrimmage, and the state of this years team. Remember, there are seniors on every team. I do not think any team of seniors wants to hear "we will be better in a few years". There is a group of kids playing their final year of football in 2011. I felt bad for the seniors in '09 and I was hoping this years kids would not face the same dismal season. But, like I said in my previous post, let's hope Hinton and his staff can take that blank canvas and create a masterpiece of 4-6 to 6-4. The staff is capable, and I do believe I saw some slivers of hope for the 2011 CAVS. Come on boys, buck up, dig deep and play with pride and determination! GO CAVS!!
