Alexander to join SEOAL......in soccer???

Post by NYBuckeye96 »

Anyone read in the Sunday Messenger that the Alexander school board will vote on whether to join the SEOAL in boys and girls soccer only at an upcoming board meeting? I think it said the soccer league fee is $125 per team (boys, girls).

Two ways to look at it............either the SEOAL is so desperate for teams that it will now accept single sport affiliations or this is another small step in the merging of the SEOAL and TVC.

I think that alex has a very good Soccer program and they want to be in a league that promotes soccer!

Soccer is a bad word at NY and at some of the other
TVC schools also.

Of all the places I've lived since graduating HS, I have never seen a school that did not have a soccer team other than many of the schools in southeastern Ohio. Soccer isn't even the fastest growing sport anymore because everyone pretty much has a soccer team now. Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in high school now since soccer is mainstream like football or basketball.

Yes, lacrosse is a spring sport..........it more or less follows the same dates for baseball in terms of when the season begins and when the playoffs occur.

Athens, like Alexander and Belpre, is currently independent in soccer.

Are those the only 3 TVC soccer schools?

Boilermaker - we finally found something we can agree upon.

Athens is also joining the league in soccer and tennis both boys and girls. This was done to help save the SEOAL in those sports because not every current member has soccer and tennis.
