Monroe Central (8-1) @ Buckeye Trail (5-3) 1/11
Trail has lost 3 in a row and have not played in a week. Monroe is dealing with suspensions. What gives in this critical game for seeding?
Re: Monroe Central (8-1) @ Buckeye Trail (5-3) 1/11
Lets hope we can play well without two of our best players out.

Go Central. Beat cocky BT . In all reality BT will probably win this one though. I'll take trail by 8

Trail is only cocky when they are winning during the game. They lead by 16 in 1st qt vs FF and still lost by 13 in a game that was not even that close.Roe shuts up real quick when his team is down 17 in 4th.Trail boys let the crowd get in their heads.FF got out of the press put the taller defender on Roe and Trail went 2-17 from 3 the last 3 qts.

How many more games will Lafferre, Jorris and the other kid be suspended. I've heard 4 games. Stupid decisions by those kids.

Lafferre and Jorris were the only two to get suspended. They're out tonight and then Tuesday against Shenandoah.surfsider wrote:How many more games will Lafferre, Jorris and the other kid be suspended. I've heard 4 games. Stupid decisions by those kids.

Don't confuse the entire Trail team as being cocky due to the play of one person. Other than that they are a well balanced team with some nice players. There are many on our side that do not agree with that either. Coach Leggett who built Trail Basketball would have no part of that nonsense.

I thought the MC boys stepped up very well last night. Trail is a good team. Didn't miss many shots. Not sure outcome would have been any different with the suspended players. Those two really let their teammates down. One thing is for certain.. younger players getting more playing time. MC will be tough for a few years. Just hope attitudes stay in check.

Sure is a big difference with Lafferre and Jorris in line up... but they put themselves in the position they are in. Other players not laying down and playing dead. Have to play with what you have and I think the other MC players are doing well. Hopw we can get past Shenandoah Tuesday night. Know for one thing it will be tough game with or without Lafferre and C Jorris.

Hope you're right. Scooter best thing to happen to Monroe Central athletics since Ted Brown coached MCHS to 32-0 softball title back in '04.MC Noles SportsFan wrote:Possibly, but I doubt it.surfsider wrote:Probably cost 'em an OVAC playoff berth.

I agree that Scooter is good for the basketball program, but I just didn't think one loss was going to make or break the chances of finishing in the top 4, even with that loss they are still in a solid second place. What will make the difference are these next 9 games and getting back on track when the suspensions are over...the team has played well with players stepping up, so I'm hoping they'll be fine when all is back to normal.

OK, but a win or loss against them still counts in the standings....it just takes out a team that might be in the top 4 giving others a chance to move up.(that must have been your point)
Someone else did say though, that they were eligible this year. I don't know if thats right or not.
Re: Monroe Central (8-1) @ Buckeye Trail (5-3) 1/11
Trail does participate this year. They would not leave 2 games open for the OVAC's in the past due to their commitment to play Cambridge home/away in the past. But w/ 22-game schedule they left open those dates for OVAC's.
