Boys tied 2-2, North Adams girls beat Lady Flyers 2-1. Not real happy aout the score, but extremely upset about the behavoir of SOME of the NA fans. One would like to think that in the 21st Century, racist remarks about players would be a thing of the past. Guess not. Would also like to think some of the adults or other boys' players would speak out against it, Guess not. I will say early in the girls' game a gentleman (I assumed was a coach) had words for his players. I did not listen considering it an internal matter. However the comments only got worse. Would suggest maybe that gentleman or another responsible adult would sit with the boys players in the future.
But the mother who constantly hurled insults to one of our girls was inexcusable. The sad part was her little girl repeating what mama was saying. It is hard to teach our children tolerance when adults do this. This was beyond calling out kids on how they play. It was personal. I would NEVER say things like that about another kid.

Sounds terrible. Thats unfortunate that still happens. I thought boys soccer was bad enough. But with this incident, and jackson girls throwing in 16 goals in one game( poor) i'll stick with spectating the guys.
