Minford over PHS
West over Piketon-2 in 5 innings
ND over NW-2 in 4 innings.

Tonight:
Eastern at NW-1
Winner moves on to play Clay Saturday, 11:00 at ND.
NewBoston at Valley.
Winner moves on to play Minford Saturday, 1:00 at ND
East at Burg
Winner moves on to play ND Saturday, 3:00 at ND.
Also Saturday at ND, West vs Piketon-1 at 5:00.

Saturdays winners move on to semi and final games Sunday at ND at 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00.
Weekend weather is supposed to be great so If you want to see some good softball games with representation from many of our SOC1 and SOC2 teams come on out.

Clay upset by northwest 8-7. Or 9-8 .. ND over burg 10-6 . West playing Piketon is the other quarter final . Winner of that plays valley .. NW vs ND in the other semifinal .

We have NW over Clay 10-8, Valley over Minford (6-2 I believe), ND over Burg 10-6, and West over Piketon 12-6. For tomorrow NW vs. Valley, then ND vs West

I think a tournament of league champions would be very interesting. Does anyone know if it's ever been done in junior high in the southeastern ohio area?

It has not been done in the past 5 years that I have been involved. Problem is, at least for the Southern Ohio JH group, it is not sanctioned. Many teams are using 6th graders. We (ND) had 8 on our roster this year. We cant start any earlier because weather does not permit and by the end of the 6 week season you are already running into travel ball and Little League conflicts.

I know ND made several calls to Unioto to try to get a game scheduled but we just could not get it coordinated. (too many schedule conflicts)

It was certainly a learning experience for us this year.
Making new contacts, finding field time, coordinating schedules,
Finding umpires ect...

Hopefully we have established some relationships that will make next
Year easier when it comes to picking up out of league games/scrimmages.

Would have liked to get a game in with ND, next year we will get it done.
We have tried to get another one with Waverly but again it looks like our schedule
Is not going to allow it.

I like the idea of a tournament of league champions.
"We have to take care of business this weekend before we can entertain the thoughts of playing in such an event"
Something to consider for next season, I doubt if schedules would allow for it to happen this year.

We have kicked around the idea of having a super jr high scrimmage next season similar to what Huntington's varsity does. It's just hard to schedule such an event when the weather can be so unpredictable in mid to late March.

Waverly Hosts Jr high club ball games every friday night, and since Waverly 8th won their league (undefeated 20 some games) if ND or Valley wants to come up on a friday and play waverly- let me know. Unioto has been coming on some Fridays and has played Piketon and Jackson here, among others.
