Because its a team game. Boys are not allowed to do this. A team with one good pitcher can go far into the tourney

Boys aren't allowed for safety reasons. Throwing a baseball is not a nature motion like windmilling a softball. Once a boy learns breaking pitches it puts too much stress on the elbow. That's why there is a pitch count and why major league pitchers have many days off between starts. Has nothing to do with a team sport.

That's like telling a football coach his running back is too good and he can only carry the ball 10 times a game or that your basketball center is too tall and he can only block 2 shots a game. As mentioned, it is a safety/injury issue for baseball players, not so much for softball. Either take more batting practice in the off-season and learn to hit better or just live with it. There are a lot of "team" sports dominated by a single player who leads his/her team to great tournament runs or even state titles.

I understand why there is no limit when they reach the higher levels. I wish their was more of a limit when they are still in Minor/Little Leagues. For no other reason than to force a coach to develop other pitchers. We have all seen instances where a coach pitched a girl every game he possibly could and then some in Little League. Maybe keep the 6 innings a week rule all the way up till they reach highschool and then all bets are off.

Softball pitching is almost a sport in of itself.

To be a true pitcher one must do it on their own time.
There is not enough practice time available for school coaches
To develop top notch pitchers.

The Top throwers in our area are throwing between 500 to a 1000 practice pitches per week.

If a girl is wanting to pitch, they (and parents) need to realize it's an itch that does not get scratched easily

A vote no on any Pitch rule changes.

My daughter pitched all thru the younger ages in both rec and all-star/low travel ball as she was the only player I had that could throw enough strikes to give us a game of softball. No one else would take the necessary time to do so, so she did it by default. Once high school came around she started game 1 as a freshman at 2nd base ( her true position)...but all those years growing up she rarely ever got the chance to do what she was best at. All 4 years of high school she was the back up pitcher.

Pitching takes a ton of practice....not everyone is like Wellston and has 4-5 pitchers in their high school program. It's one thing to try and develop them but the kid has to do it on their own and mom or Dad is sitting on the bucket in the yard 3-5 days a week to make it work, that dedication is not for everyone.

I vote NO to changes also, even though it would give me back several hours of my life each week not to mention tires would last a lot longer on the Ole truck.
