This could be a trap game because of how well the Blue Devils played against Portsmouth. Coal Grove will be a little harder to beat at home and will probably play the Big Blue tough, but in the end the Big Blue will prevail by 12 or more points.

If CG wins this game, they are definitely a #1 seed in their Sectional with no arguments.

Gallia is the favorite going in, but the Hornets are a good ballclub. They handle the ball well, especially with Aaron Music at the point. They have two physical post players, Jeb Jones and Sam Angelo, both around 6-3, and an excellent perimeter threat in Casey Borders. They will probably try to keep the score in the 50's. CG will have to keep a very improved Zach Loveday away from the basket. He had a very good offensive game vs. Portsmouth. The PG McClellan hurt the Trojans with some 3's, and Evan Wiseman showed multiple ways to score against PHS. That makes Gallia Academy a tough matchup defensively for anyone, with the exception of Fairland, although the Blue Devils get another shot at the Dragons later on. Coal Grove has been my season long pick to reach the regionals in D4, and their schedule is the toughest of any D4 school in the SE district.

I'll have the game on live tomorrow night if you want to watch. It's a home broadcast, so if you don't like to hear a little bantering about the refs an all that a home broadcast brings, may want to steer clear, otherwise, come hang out, have a good time, and watch some good basketball at facebook.com/coalgrovelive - we should be live somewhere between 7:15 and 7:30 depending on JV.

great game plan and execution by coal grove tonight. you destroyed my blue devils and that has been the game plan that would beat them but no one else has got the lead or made the shots to pull it off.

Great defensive game plan by the hornets 🐝. That wasn't only a win , it was a 21 point beat down . The devils didn't know what hit them
