Gallia Academy Blue Devils Football 2020
Should we expect similar results in 2020?
Returning starters? New faces who could contribute? Svac, you have any info?

Sounds to me Gallia should be the team to challenge ironton for the ovc. Armstrong healthy gives them a punching chance.

Gallia returns a lot of players. I see them 8-2 or 9-1. They will be really tough.

Freshman big kid (who will be a sophomore) should have a break out season. I could be mistaken but I believe he's receiving D1 interest already.

The schedule alone will allow them that record. After what I seen in the playoff game they've got a long ways to go to be really tough.Beergogglebluez wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 12:11 pm Gallia returns a lot of players. I see them 8-2 or 9-1. They will be really tough.

I agree with that. Getting Jackson back on the yearly schedule would help.

I agree 100% on schedule. I think playing d5 and 6 schools do not help prepare for postseason. Gallia is the team that would benefit out of the ovc.countywide35 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 8:57 amgreygoose wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 7:06 amThe schedule alone will allow them that record. Possibly. But the OVC is pretty competitive when ya have GA and Ironton. Other teams in the OVC will get better too due to GA and I-Town success. Jackson/GA has to get back in there. No love loss between those two.

I think what would make the opening 3 games fun would be the old SEOAL teams come to an agreement and rotate games every year.countywide35 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 3:43 pmBeergogglebluez wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 1:24 pmI agree 100% on schedule. Example if it happened next year Gallia would play
Wk.1 Jackson
Wk. 2 Warren
Wk. 3 Logan
Wk. 4-10 OVC play
I think if they did that they would become a lot more competitive during November in the playoffs.

That would be neat. Jackson /Logan open up the year. Jackosn /Ironton scrimmage week before. So in a sense Jackson still does as you suggest. Warren would need to get ALOT better. I know warren is building some huge new schools as we speak. I do not know if that includes new sports complex, football stadium etc. it would help if they do.
This is no dig at all whatsoever to GA. But I feel it hurt GA some when they built new schools and did not build them a new football stadium. Really suprised that folk in GA allowed that to happen.

Folks at GA had no say and it has hurt the kids that came after.countywide35 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:22 pm That would be neat. Jackson /Logan open up the year. Folks in town didn't want the school to move out of the city limits in the first place. They also did not want to leave Memorial Field. Too many people attached to the history of that location.Rvfan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:32 pmFolks at GA had no say and it has hurt the kids that came after.countywide35 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:22 pm That would be neat.
