Freshman varsity players
Just curious who has freshman playing varsity.
Northwest has 3 Connor Lintz, Jay Jenkins and Tanner Bolin.
Valley has Jace Copley and Cody Metzler.

Tayvion Galloway of Unioto starts for us and had a solid opener vs McClain

I saw him last year and he looked the size of a college kid.. They told me he was in 8th grade and I didn't believe them.

I wasn’t sure how he’d adjust to the speed and physical difference of middle school but then in the 1st qtr of our foundation game he 2 hand slammed a ball with a defender on each side of him and was like, Ok he’s ready, lol. His biggest presence for us will be felt defensively. He erased a few defensive mistakes by upper class men by pinning shots on the glass that looked like they were gonna be layups. His shot blocking ability is beyond his years and his body is solid. Guessing 6’5” 215 ish. Long arms, huge hands. He’s gonna be a nightmare in a few years for teams when he gets more comfortable scoring the ball.bbjunky81 wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 10:54 amThat kid is going to be special.mlittle wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 10:47 am Tayvion Galloway of Unioto starts for us and had a solid opener vs McClain

Re: Freshman varsity players
Sounds like a good addition to an already solid squad that has some talented, dangerous guards. Measurable's and athleticism seem to be there and that’s a scary combo for opposing teams in the future. Is this young man still growing?? Is this his first year at Unioto schools?mlittle wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 12:06 pmI wasn’t sure how he’d adjust to the speed and physical difference of middle school but then in the 1st qtr of our foundation game he 2 hand slammed a ball with a defender on each side of him and was like, Ok he’s ready, lol. He moved in his 8th grade year. I’m not sure what he’s projected to get to but it looks like he still has a little growing left to do.GH0$T wrote: Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:57 pmSounds like a good addition to an already solid squad that has some talented, dangerous guards. He moved in from Chillicothe right? So fairly local kid nonetheless.
You all will be hearing his name a lot in the future. All the physical gifts in the world. Like mlittle said, as he continues to add onto his offensive arsenal, he’s going to be a sight to see.

If it were me I’d be training him like a point guard. He moves very well, extremely athletic for his age. He’s about 6’5. He may grow a little more but could you imagine him playing from the wing with the ability to handle the ball? He doesn’t have a bad shot. Let’s face it at 6’5 or 6’6 he isn’t gonna be playing the 4 or 5 at the next level. Train him like a guard but use him inside when you need him and he’ll be a nightmare for this league and you’d be preparing him for the next level at the same time. Win win
