Ironton @ Jackson
Ironton @ Jackson
Ironton won pretty comfortably last year after winning a couple of crazy games the previous two years. Should be a nice litmus test for Ironton’s line play.
Re: Ironton @ Jackson
The guys on the outside will make the difference in this one, Jackson is big up front and should handle the LOS. Think you’ll see Ironton by 14

Re: Ironton @ Jackson
I may take Jackson in this game. Ironton's overall defensive plan against Burg seemed to be keep everything in front of them and not give up any big plays. They were going to make burg put together long drives to win. However, I saw some things with the front seven that were concerning and Jackson may be able to exploit that with the running game.
Re: Ironton @ Jackson
Wheelersburg moved the ball on 1 drive. Didn’t have a first down in 2nd half and was held to just 20 total yards. I don’t know what you saw but from my point of view Ironton Defense controlled the LOS against a much bigger Wheelersburg OL. Ironton is returning basically the entire Defense from last year minus 2 guys. They held Jackson to 14 points last year with 2 D1 backs in backfield.Buckeyeman11 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:17 am I may take Jackson in this game. You are correct, and what I saw may have just been a product of what the coaches wanted to run against a spread type offense. Hopefully number 8 for Ironton is back this week.XandOs wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:21 amWheelersburg moved the ball on 1 drive. Wheelersburg averaged a little over 3 yards per carry. I'd say the front seven did pretty good. I haven't seen anything on Jackson yet but traditionally they bring a pretty big and athletic line every year. Might be more of a challenge for the undersized D-line of the Tigers. Still going with the Tigers in this one.Buckeyeman11 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:17 am I may take Jackson in this game. Was actually 21 points , their running back was a yard in the end zone before the ball came out, but regardless I agree with you. We’ll be too much for Jackson. Jackson is big but SLOW, Jackson and Burg are even.XandOs wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:21 amWheelersburg moved the ball on 1 drive. Jarred Pendleton does not get enough credit that he is due. His defense for Ironton has been dominate since day one. Just thought I would add that in there.XandOs wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:21 amWheelersburg moved the ball on 1 drive. Didn’t have a first down in 2nd half and was held to just 20 total yards. Kickoff has been moved to 8pm Friday night due to the heat. Gates to the stadium parking lot will open at 6pm and there will be a shuttle to and from the over flow lot at the middle school before and after the game.

Good test to see where both teams stand. Both are in tough regions. Harvest Prep put D5 on notice

I went back and checked to see if there was an official score change but it turns out it was still 14.Larry Fine wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:54 amWas actually 21 points , their running back was a yard in the end zone before the ball came out, but regardless I agree with you. Re: Ironton @ Jackson
I heard Burg only had 20 yards of offense in 2nd half. Their qb scrambled for most of their yards the first half and it wasnt much.Buckeyeman11 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:17 am I may take Jackson in this game. Re: Ironton @ Jackson
Kinda a toss-up here but being at home Ironmen 21- Tigers 17. Ironton has to prove that they are elite. I know they beat the Pirates but in my opinion theyre around a 500 club for year ,if that. I believe Jackson is probably a level above the Tigers and until Ironton wins a game of consquence, which they will this year , they might go 6-4 or 7-3. Harvest Prep this year looks like the jewel in this region to advance to the State. Ironmen in a larger division will have a hard time in there division. In the end these two are the top 2 in the southeastern area. Good Luck to a well played game, probably game of year.
