Ironton Scheduling problems?

Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
They'll have that if they insist on home games as some on websites feel they are entitled

They’re not insisting on all home games, they’re willing to travel as the Coach has said many times, anyone, anyplace, anytime.FIDO wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 7:05 pm They'll have that if they insist on home games as some on websites feel they are entitled

Old News… Like to see the Redmen back on the schedule. Not only good for both communities being close together it would also help RH prepare for playoffs.REDMAN wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 6:49 pm a little birdie told me they have a lot of weeks to fill still. 5 or 6 games schedule in 2025?

Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
If Ironton wants home games they realize they are going to have to pay teams to come.
They will likely be on the road for 6 games this year no doubt.
The good thing is Ironton fans knows this and realizes that is the cost of being an independent and challenging for state titles.
Sadly it will get harder and harder I can see Wheelersburg dropping Ironton and the shape Gallia is in I can see them doing the same.
Portsmouth will continue to play Ironton for the foreseeable future as will Jackson I believe.
But overall Ironton will be ok they knew this when they went Independent.

Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
Teams in the area know what they are doing and they aren’t going to schedule them. Ashland knows, they dropped them, ovc knows, kicked them out, burg phs probably not far from doing the same thing, Continue doing it and you’ll just have to accept the consequences
Vass before transfers 229-75 burg 5-1, Pendleton and transfers 211-84 6-2 ironton

For some teams yes, for RH no. How does getting beat 62-0 and suffering injuries as well as getting beat down mentally help them?REDMEN95 wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 6:36 amOld News… Like to see the Redmen back on the schedule. Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
I have been told Ironton has Weeks 1-4 and Week 7 open.
They’ll find games. May not be cheap. May not be close. May not be easy. But they’ll find them. Good news is it’s not the old days where computer points were important. Go 3-2 against Wheelersburg, Jackson, Fairland, Gallia, Portsmouth and you’re in. Lose 3 of those and you’re not a playoff threat anyways.
I would personally try to keep Week 7 open with a 16 game season possible now.

Currently Ironton only has weeks 1, 2 and 4 open. The contract for week 1 should be signed any day now.

Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
From what I recall the game with Cabell-Midland should be at Marshall again. It was a 3 year contract. They did get a new coach going into last season so I wouldn’t rule it out that it may just been changed from there

Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
hey guys n gals. it's ole bait here. everyone knows being independant is going to be very tough to schedule games. we can expect to be playing teams from any and everywhere. some teams i'd like to see back are columbus desales, belfry ky. portsmouth west, huntington high school, ashland. possibly some teams like that from ironton's past schedules. maybe even washington court house, bloom carol, lancaster, i'd like for someone to share some additional thoughts on this. be blessed and have a blessed new year, YTB.

Re: Ironton Scheduling problems?
THANK YOU very much. i don't know how much time i'll be able to devote to it. but i always enjoyed making friends here. i'm not here for drama. just to chat with old friends and make new ones as well. i just realized it's been 4/5 years. mrs. bait pulled up reigns from the baitcave and moved on. that was 5 years ago. and now ole bait has to do everything. i love it here in waverly. been here 15 years now. i missed so many of you all. and mattash has reached out several times. i was just lower than a pregnant copperhead for a couple years. but i'm back. time is my problem when the weather is good outside. because i have a huge house and yard to keep up with. and after 16 surgeries. it takes me forever to keep up with everything. but i have very much missed so many of you. and hope i can devote more time here, YTB.
